About This Site
Top Golf Back Pain and Swing is written for recreational golfers whose backs complain before, during or after a round. We test back braces, massage guns, back stretchers, heating pads and swing trainers on the course and at home, and we write up what actually helped, what did not, and who each product suits.

Back Safety
Nothing on this site is medical advice. We are golfers, not doctors or physical therapists. Back pain that is sharp, gets worse over several days, wakes you at night, or comes with numbness, tingling or weakness down a leg, or with any loss of bladder or bowel control, needs a medical professional promptly, not a product.
Heating pads can burn skin, especially on a high setting or if you fall asleep on one, or if you have diabetes or reduced sensation. Use a cover, keep sessions short, and never heat a fresh injury that is swollen. Massage guns should stay off the spine itself, the neck, bruises, varicose veins and recent injuries, and anyone on blood thinners or with a pacemaker should ask their doctor first. Back stretchers and inversion-style arches load the spine, so start with a few minutes on the lowest setting and stop if pain increases. A back brace is a short-term support, not a fix, and wearing one all day can let your core muscles weaken. Swing trainers are swung hard, so clear the space around you, check the shaft and grip before each session, and keep people and pets well back.
